AZALEA 'DELAWARE VALLEY'

Product Description

Large, single, 2-4” pure white flowers appear in early spring.  Foliage is a lush green foliage forms a compact, mounded form.  This a relatively low maintenance azalea that thrives in acidic soil.  Use to add subtle, early spring color to borders, hedges, woodland areas, and foundation plantings.  Its pretty, elegant flowers also make it an ideal option for an accent shrub.  Pruning lightly after flowering will help maintain its graceful form and will promote flower buds.

For planting azaleas we recommend using either Mahoney’s Compost Planting Mix. For best flower production, plant in a location that has full sun to semi-shade and well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Mulch lightly. Use of soil ammemdments is recommended, ie. Happy Frog Soil Conditioner. Plant no deeper than existing root ball. Water deeply and regularly the 1st year, especially in hot, dry weather. After 1st year fertilize in early spring with Espoma Holly-tone. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain form and promote new buds.
