Poinsettias are tropical plants and need to be protected from cold air so make sure to take your poinsettia straight home and do not leave in your car for a prolonged period of time otherwise they may begin to drop their leaves.

Poinsettias have large colorful bracts which are its leaves, but are often mistaken for flower petals. Its flowers are small and round, like mini berries and sit at the center of the leaf brackets

Poinsettia care:

• Poinsettias prefer room temperature water. Allow you poinsettia to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can cause root rot and will damage the plants root system. Check you poinsettia often by either picking it up or sticking your finger in the soil to see if it needs water.
• Poinsettias do best in humid conditions. Make sure to mist your poinsettia if you indoor space is especially dry and hot.
• Place you poinsettia in an area that has a good amount of warmth and light. Make sure to keep it away from areas that are prone to cold drafts.
