Betula nigra 'Heritage'

'Heritage' is a fast-growing tree with layers of brown bark peeling back to reveal white inner bark.  Glossy, light green leaves turn yellow in fall and distinctive bark that starts off reddish-pink and fades to cinnamon to creamy tan-white with age.  Bark peels off in thickly curled stripes.  Makes an ideal specimen tree.

Requires average, moist to wet soil.

Mature size - 40' H x 30' W

Little pruning is needed excepted to remove dead, diseased, or crossing branches.
