General Application Rates:
Shrubs: 1 lb. per 3 ft. of height.
Trees: 1 lb. per inch of diameter.
To correct alkaline soil: 5 lbs. per 100 sq. ft.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

For best results - determine your soil's current pH level with a soil test. If pH is above 7.0 an application of aluminum sulfate will be effective in lowering soil pH to the 5.5 range which is desireable for growing acid-loving plants. Recheck the soil pH two weeks after application. If needed, reapply only to those areas where the desirable pH is required to maintain vigorous plants.

2 cups of this product is approximately equal to 1 lb.

FOR SHRUBS:
Use 1 lb per 3 ft. of height. Mix 1 lb. in 5 gallons of water and apply at the drip line of the shrub. Can also be spread dry around the drip line and watered in.

When using aluminum sulfate to maintain or change hydrangeas to blue they should not be fed a phosphate fertilizer because it has a tendency to "tie-up" the aluminum. Do not use on white or pink hydrangea varieties if a blue color is not desired.

FOR TREES:
Use 1 lb. per inch of diameter. Mix in 5 gallons of water or apply dry at the drip line of the tree and water in thoroughly.

FOR SOIL:
To help correct alkaline soil, use 5 lbs. per 100 sq. ft. Wash off foliage and water in well after application.
