Bigleaf Hydrangea

A reblooming mophead variety with large, star-shaped, double flowers that range from dark pink to purple blue depending on soil pH.  It has extra sturdy, strong, upright stems that hold the flowers beautifully.  This is an ideal option for smaller garden areas and containers due to its compact form.  Use in borders, on patios, in groupings, woodland areas, or in cutting gardens.

For planting hydrangeas we recommend using either Mahoney’s Compost Planting Mix or Fox Farm Planting Mix.

For best flower production, plant in a location that allows for full morning sun with dappled shade in the afternoon.

Mulch lightly. Use of soil ammemdments is recommended.

Water deeply and regularly the 1st year, especially in hot, dry weather.

After 1st year fertilize in spring or early summer with Espoma Holly-tone.

Only prune after flowering.
